BRADENTON -- Winds shifted to southerly and increased yesterday and into the nigh ahead of an approaching cold front. This front is expected to move across the waters during Thursday and Thursday evening. High pressure will build into the region Thursday night and Friday with a breezy northeast to east flow to end the week. Easterly winds will continue over the weekend with a moderate gradient persisting.

Thursday

West winds around 10 knots becoming northwest around 15 knots in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters a light chop becoming a moderate chop in the afternoon. A chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning then a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Thursday night will bring northeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Bay and inland waters choppy.

Friday

Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Bay and inland waters choppy. Friday night will bring northeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Bay and inland waters choppy.

Saturday

East winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. Saturday night will bring east winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop.

Sunday

East winds around 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop.
