BRADENTON – The Marauders (18-18) fell 4-1 to the Charlotte Stone Crabs (18-18) on Saturday night at McKechnie Field. Charlotte stole four bases in the first inning and finished with seven steals in the game.

Andrew Toles singled against Tyler Glasnow (L, 0-3) to lead off the ball game. Toles stole second and third base, then scored on a shallow fly ball to right field caught by second baseman Max Moroff. The Stone Crabs scored two more in the inning on a two-RBI double by Kes Carter. Glasnow did not allow another run, finishing with five innings pitched, three hits allowed, three earned runs allowed, four walks, and three strikeouts.

Alex Colome pitched four innings and surrendered one hit for the Stone Crabs in his rehab appearance. Parker Markel (W, 1-0) earned the win with three innings in relief. Jose Molina (S, 1) earned his first save with two scoreless innings of relief.

Charlotte went up 4-0 in the seventh, using two singles and an error to tally against Ryan Hafner. Hafner tossed three innings and struck out three.

The Marauders plated a run in the bottom of the seventh for the lone score by the home team. Walker Gourley doubled with two outs in against Markel and scored on Jacob Stallings’ single to left.

The Marauders are off on Sunday and return to action Monday at 6:30 p.m. Chad Kuhl will start for the Marauders against the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
