Chief's Corner: Bradenton Police Department

The Bradenton Police Department is pleased to report an overall 10% reduction in crime in 2025, reflecting the continued efforts of officers, detectives, and community partners to keep our city safe.

Several major crime categories saw significant decreases last year, including a 26% reduction in burglaries, a 46% reduction in motor vehicle thefts, and a 30% reduction in weapon law violations.

There were three homicides in the City of Bradenton in 2025, and all three cases were closed by arrest. Officers also removed 154 illegal firearms from the streets.

BPD’s Patrol Division responded to 109,930 incidents in 2025 and made 2,987 arrests, a 73% increase from 2024. The Detective Division investigated 1,475 additional cases and made 163 arrests, not including written warrants.

The department’s Crime Reduction Team, which focuses on violent crime, gun offenses, and narcotics investigations, made 320 arrests, the majority of which were for felony offenses.

BPD’s Traffic Unit also remained busy throughout the year, issuing 5,269 citations, investigating 1,868 crashes, and conducting seven traffic homicide investigations. Officers made 68 DUI arrests, a 48% increase from 2024.
