Community Spotlight: Leadership Manatee Alumni Assoc. to Recognize Jaymie Carter in Award Ceremony

The Leadership Manatee Alumni Association (LMAA) has announced that it will be recognizing Jaymie Carter as this year’s Kent C. Schulz Distinguished Alumni Recipient.

Jaymie Carter is a 1988 graduate of Leadership Manatee. Over the years, Jaymie has spent countless volunteer hours serving on boards and committees as well as chairing several successful fundraising events for local non-profit organizations including the Women's Resource Center of Manatee, Realize Bradenton, South Florida Museum, PACE Center for Girls, Entre Nous Service Club, Library Foundation of Manatee County and the Ringling Museum of Art. Jaymie and her husband Mike were recently recognized by the Manatee Community Foundation with the Leadership Spirit Award in 2009.

The Kent C. Schulz Distinguished Leadership Award was developed nineteen years ago after Kent Schulz lost his battle with cancer. He was the epitome of a true leader in the community. Kent was a Leadership Alumnus who was always involved and never hesitated to lend a hand.

Past recipients include: Rose Carlson, Amanda Edge, Tom Seguin, Bob Bartz, Betsy Benac, Darrell Turner, John Vita, Edie Bustle, Connie Shingledecker, Diana Davis, Linda Agresta, Ruth Lawler, Cliff Walters, Robert King, Gerry Russell, Bob Sweat, Brenda Rogers and Bob Sweat.

The luncheon will be held Wednesday, April 3rd at the Renaissance on 9th in Bradenton. Doors open at 11:30am. To register, visit www.leadershipmanateealumni.org.
