SARASOTA – Life Care Center of Sarasota, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, is pleased to announce its successful completion of a deficiency-free survey from the Florida Department of Public Health.

“I am so happy to be a part of such a tremendous team,” said Nina Willingham, senior executive director. “This deficiency-free survey is a testimony to the good work they do, and I am very proud of them.”

To pass the state survey each year, nursing facilities must meet hundreds of criteria. The survey focuses on a wide variety of care areas in the facility, including nursing care, patients’ rights, safety, food services, administration and the physical condition of the building. Surveyors spend several days in the building reviewing paperwork, observing resident care and interviewing residents and associates.

The survey took place July 14 – 18, 2013.

“One of the surveyors said it was a true pleasure to survey our facility because the residents and patients all commented that they were very happy, and that it was obvious that our systems were in place,” said Willingham.

Life Care Center of Sarasota, located at 8104 Tuttle Ave., is one of 21 skilled nursing and rehab facilities in Florida managed or operated by Life Care Centers of America.
