Community Spotlight: Local Man Elected National Provost Marshal

ELLENTON – The National Sons of AMVETS are pleased to report that Kenneth Barber of Ellenton, FL was elected National Provost Marshal for the Sons of AMVETS at their National Convention held in Memphis, TN on August 16th , 2014. Ken previously served as National Deputy Provost Marshal in addition to his State and Local offices.

Ken was installed with his fellow officers at a Joint Installation Ceremony with the AMVETS, AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary and Junior AMVETS at the conclusion of the Convention.

Ken will serve under National Commander Daniel Briggs of Findlay, OH. His Project for the year is “Helping Hospitalized Veterans.” Funds raised will be used to assist veterans who are hospitalized or housebound to help meet basic needs of daily living.

The Sons of AMVETS is a Subordinate Organization of the AMVETS (American Veterans), a Congressionally chartered 501 c (19) Veterans Service Organization. The Sons of AMVETS has approximately 23,000 members, with nearly 400 local Squadrons in 32 States.
