Community Spotlight: Manatee County Habitat for Humanity Collecting School Supplies

BRADENTON – Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is collecting school supplies for children residing in Habitat homes in grades Kindergarten through high school for an August 10th Back to School Event.  Habitat is seeking donations of school supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, markers and back packs.

Donation boxes have been established at the following locations: Boyd Insurance and Investments (717 Manatee Avenue, West, Bradenton); Florida Maritime Museum (4415 119th Street, West, Cortez); Habitat Restore (4105 Cortez Road, West, Bradenton) and Habitat Restore (1227 Hardin Avenue, Tallevast).The School Supply Drive will run through July 31, 2013. Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical, volunteer-based organization dedicated to building homes in partnership with low-income families who need safe, decent, affordable housing. The Manatee County Habitat for Humanity Affiliate was chartered in the summer of 1994 and has built 109 homes with the help of donors, families and volunteers. Habitat for Humanity houses are sold to qualified partner families for no profit and financed with affordable, interest-free loans that are financed by Habitat.
