BRADENTON – Fans, friends and families can celebrate the arrival of spring by supporting the Pirates and Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County at McKechnie Field. The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced that they will be supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County through the ticket sales of their March 20th Spring Training game against the Orioles. Thursday, March 20th, the official start of spring, is the only scheduled Pirates Spring Training night game at McKechnie Field.

“The Pirates’ continued support of our mission to serve more children of Manatee County is a testament to the organization’s commitment to the youth of our community and we’re truly grateful to have them as a partner,” said Marc Dosogne, CEO for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County.

The Pirates will give the Boys & Girls Clubs $3 for every ticket sold for the game against the Orioles. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office at McKechnie Field (1611 9th Street West, Bradenton) or online at Pirates.com. Be sure to visit the Boys & Girls Clubs table to enter a free raffle for a chance to win an iPad Air. The first pitch is at 7:05 PM and the gates open at 5 PM.

Open the door and take a tour of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County. The Clubs serve over 6,000 young people at seven locations (Daughtrey Elementary School, Orange Ridge-Bullock Elementary School, Harllee Middle School, Lincoln Memorial Middle School, Southeast High School and the DeSoto and Palmetto Clubs). For more information or to arrange a tour, call 761-2582 or visit www.bgcmanatee.org.
