Last week, we celebrated the culmination of what can only be described as a monumental collaboration among the City, County, Sheriff’s Office, School Board and many other community partners. City Park will stand as a legacy project that benefits our community for generations to come.
The leadership and persistence of our Mayor in bringing this vision to fruition cannot be overstated. Future generations will enjoy the benefits of this investment and owe a measure of gratitude to those who had the foresight to make it happen.
We are also grateful to Senator Jim Boyd for his continued efforts to secure funding that brings our tax dollars back home to support important local projects. We are fortunate to have strong support at the state level and leaders who recognize the value of investing in communities like ours and understand the lasting impact these projects have on the quality of life for Florida families.
This milestone is only the beginning. City Park represents one of several initiatives underway that will continue to strengthen Bradenton and make it an even more desirable place to live, work, and raise a family. We have been working diligently to position our community for success, not only for today, but for generations to come, and we remain committed to that mission.

I agree with everything said, except Jim Boyd’s contributions. He continues to lead the destruction of local control.
When Boyd’s plan to eliminate major parts of the local property tax and shift decision making to Tallahassee will be end of projects like this.
