County Announces Future Virtual Building Inspections

Posted
MANATEE COUNTY – Manatee County and the Department of Development Services, Inspections Division announced the upcoming implementation of software to facilitate virtual building inspections.

On its website, the county shared the following:

"Manatee County is leading the way with an innovative new technology provider for virtual inspections. Coming soon VuSpex Virtual Inspections – VuSpex is a tool that allows contractors to connect with Manatee County Building Inspectors quickly and powerfully while seamlessly integrating with our online services.
Contractors may schedule virtual inspections, upload pictures and videos, and/or request live video conferences to complete inspections remotely. The contractor connects to the Inspector with video & audio. Then the Inspector verbally guides the contractor through the virtual inspection and can verify the GPS location, take photos & videos, add comments, markups, and complete the inspection with an automatically generated inspection report. This service, provided by the Development Services Inspections Division, enhances efficiency while saving contractors time and money & reduces windshield time."

The county said more updates will be provided in the very near future, including information on training opportunities for contractors and a scheduled "go live" date.
