Posted
BRADENTON – The 18th Annual Festival of the Skeletons returns to the Village of the Arts on the first Friday and Saturday of November. VOTA's most popular annual event is a celebration of life to remember our departed loved ones in the tradition of Dia de los Muertos, celebrating with music, food, drinks, community, and art. The event will also include the return of the Red Elvises.

The events are scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. on both Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 and include the annual parade of skeletons. Galleries will be open for the Art Walk event, and a number of VOTA locations will offer live entertainment. Visit the FB event page for more info.

Birdrock Taco Shack will feature the SCF Jazz band on Friday night, beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed at 8:30 p.m. by cult favorites the Red Elvises. The LA-based band has been popular on the Florida circuit going back to their days at the now-defunct Ace's Live. Tickets for their show are $25 and are expected to sell out. On Saturday, Nov. 5, Cottonmouth southern soul kitchen will feature Gyspy Wind, followed by the Nov. 6 return of blues singer Lauren Mitchell who relocated from Florida to New Orleans last year. Visit Cottonmouth's FB page for more info.
