Bring the whole family out for a free Touch-a-Truck Hurricane Expo, where fun meets preparedness!
Climb aboard and explore a variety of utility, emergency response and heavy-duty vehicles while meeting the people who serve and protect our community every day. Families will have the opportunity to interact with crews from FPL, local fire departments, law enforcement agencies, emergency management teams and other community partners who play critical roles before, during and after severe weather events.
This family-friendly event is completely free to attend and features hands-on vehicle displays, hurricane preparedness resources, games, activities, giveaways and free refreshments while supplies last. Children and adults alike can learn valuable storm readiness tips, discover emergency planning resources and gain a better understanding of how first responders and utility crews work together to keep our communities safe.
Guests can visit informational booths, collect preparedness materials, and speak directly with local experts about creating emergency plans, building hurricane kits, backup power options, and staying informed during severe weather. The event also offers opportunities to win exciting door prizes, making it both educational and fun for attendees of all ages.
To help ensure an inclusive experience for everyone, the event includes a designated sensory-friendly hour from 9-10 a.m. with reduced noise, limited horns and no flashing lights. Families are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of all the activities and giveaways.
Whether you're looking to prepare for hurricane season, meet local first responders, explore impressive vehicles, or simply enjoy a fun day with the family, the Touch-a-Truck Hurricane Expo offers something for everyone.
