This is one of the most common concerns we hear at the League of Women Voters of Manatee County — and it’s exactly why we host our candidate forums. These sessions give voters a chance to hear directly from the candidates, understand where they stand on key issues, and get the information needed to vote with confidence.
Join us via Zoom as we meet the candidates running for the Manatee County Commission, the Manatee County School Board, and Congressional District 16.
IMPORTANT CHANGE: Recent redistricting has significantly reshaped Congressional District 16. Manatee County remains in the district, but the portion of Hillsborough County previously included has been removed. The district now encompasses all of DeSoto and Hardee Counties, the southern tip of St. Petersburg, and part of Sarasota County. The League has been working diligently to reach voters in these newly added areas to ensure that all voters have access to reliable, nonpartisan information.
Candidates will answer questions developed by the League of Women Voters of Manatee County, along with questions submitted at least one week before the forum. If you have a question you’d like considered, please send it, as well as which candidate forum the question is for, to info@lwvmanatee.org.
We continue to work on scheduling the remainder of the primary election races.
