Humane Society of Manatee County celebrates one year anniversary of neuter clinic today

BRADENTON -- The Humane Society of Manatee County celebrates its one year anniversary of the spay/neuter clinic today located at 2515 14th St. West.

This low -cost spay neuter clinic opened its doors on April 6, 2009 after the staff attended a comprehensive training program at the Humane Alliance facility in North Carolina.

Under the direction of medical director Carolyn Kohn, the spay neuter clinic has provided affordable sterilization surgery to 5,000 dogs and cats over the past year.

Spay and neuter services are available to the general public with no residency or income qualifications.

Costs are from $35 to $50 for cats and $55 to $65 for dogs.

Surgeries are performed Monday through Friday by appointment only.
