BRADENTON -- High pressure across the eastern Gulf region continues through the end of the work week. A frontal boundary reaches the northern waters late Thursday but stalls and dissipates by Saturday. A low pressure center could develop in the northern Gulf and move across the northern Gulf Coast on Saturday...dragging a cold front across the area Saturday night and Sunday. Winds and seas are forecast to support small craft advisories this weekend.
Thursday
Southeast winds around 10 knots becoming southwest in the afternoon. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Thursday nightwill bring south winds around 5 knots. Bay and inland waters smooth. A chance of showers.
Friday
West winds 5 to 10 knots. Bay and inland waters a light chop. A slight chance of showers in the morning...then a chance of showers in the afternoon. Friday night
will bring southwest winds around 10 knots becoming southeast in the late evening. Bay and inland waters a light chop. A chance of showers.
Saturday
South winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop. A chance of showers. Saturday nightwill bring west winds 15 to 20 knots. Bay and inland waters choppy. A chance of thunderstorms.
Sunday
North winds around 20 knots. Bay and inland waters choppy. A slight chance of showers. Sunday nightwill bring northeast winds around 15 knots. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop.
