Jorge is a leading pianist from the new generation of jazz in Cuba. His music is a confluence of Cuban jazz, Cuban and Afro Cuban music, American jazz, and classical music with a measure of contemporary pop and soul to keep things up to date. He’s collaborated with the likes of Wynton Marsalis and the LLCO, Arturo O’Farrill, the legendary Lenny White as well as Dave Weckl and Richie Goods. He is also a composer and a singer; with a Master in Composition from the Instituto Superior de Arte de LA Habana (ISA). He has performed all over the world in clubs and jazz festivals; from Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York - the Jazz Capital of the World, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, the Apollo Theater in Harlem to the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Israel; among others. Jorge has also received numerous international awards as well. Jorge is a citizen of Cuba and Germany; with two passports hence, the logistics for travel wouldn’t be complicated. Jorge can perform as a soloist pianist, with a jazz trio or quartet.
His new musical production, “The Lockdown Album” released in May 2022 by Ropeadope is a beautiful presentation of his talent and style, with a modern Cuban flavor that defines the current and future.
