Residents Should be Outraged

Mr. Van Ostenbridge and his pals on the Commission may be applauded by his developer buddies and the Dunning-Kruger faction of his constituency, but right-minded people, no matter what their political persuasion, should be outraged.

A little about myself: My family came to Bradenton Beach in 1951. I attended Anna Maria Elementary, Walker Jr. High School, Manatee High School, and Manatee Jr. College. I graduated with honors in mathematics from FSU and later with a PhD in Physics. I taught and did research for a number of years at both FSU and the University of Georgia.

In the late 1970’s I worked at the Florida State Energy Office where I ran the program that wrote the Energy Efficient Building Code for the State. When the Code was completed, I became an internationally syndicated (King Features) cartoonist. My comic strip, Piranha Club (Ernie in Europe), ran for thirty years until I retired in 2018.
