Letter to the Editor: Disappointed with New Cafe on the Beach

Dear Editor,

I recently went to the Beach Cafe on Holmes Beach, now that it is operated by the new ownership. My understanding was that they were to make $40-50,000 worth of improvements as part of the deal to take it over. It looks to me like they put in a few new tables (real cheapo's) and a little new paint. The singer didn't sing even as good as I do in the shower (and I scared my cat away). If they've paid even $5,000 for what they've done so far, they were ripped off and so were the taxpayers. Food portions were smaller, but I'll admit they were still good. Not impressed with what the Manatee Board of County Commissioner did here at all.
