Manatee County Fleet Services Wins National Award

Posted

MANATEE COUNTY – The Association of Equipment Management Professionals has named Manatee County Fleet Services the top governmental fleet organization in the country.

For the second time in five years, Manatee County Fleet Services was awarded Fleet Masters Award for public fleets across the country by AEMP, a national group of fleet management professionals who work in private and public sector construction, utilities, energy, mining and other areas.

Manatee Fleet also received the award in 2009.

"Being the recipient of this prestigious award for the second time in the past five years is directly correlated to the professionalism of our staff here in the Fleet Services division,” said Fleet Division Manager Mike Brennan. “Through their consolidated efforts they continue to provide our customers, and the citizens of Manatee County with world-class fleet maintenance and management services. I am very proud of each and every member of our team for their outstanding efforts over the past five years, and look forward to working alongside them as we progress into the future."

Each year the AEMP and the AEMP Partners for Growth recognize one public and one private fleet maintenance/management organization whose staffers “excel in meeting unique challenges inherent to delivering cost-effective vehicle and equipment maintenance and management for both on-road vehicles and off-road equipment.” Fleet masters are recognized for their practices in the areas of human relations, vendor relations, asset management, maintenance management and technology.

The association formally presented the award during a national gathering of industry leaders in Jacksonville.
