MANATEE COUNTY — The holidays will impact local government hours and services. Here's a look at how the calendar will be effected in Manatee County.
County offices will be closed on the following dates:
- Christmas Day, Monday, December 25
- Day After Christmas, Tuesday, December 26
- New Year's Day, Monday, January 1, 2024
There will be no residential garbage or recycling collection on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. All collections will be one day later for the remainder of the week for each of these holidays. For additional information, visit

All Manatee County public parks, preserves and beaches will remain open to the public. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek golf courses will be closed on Christmas Day.
G.T. Bray Recreation Center will be closed on Sunday, December 24; Monday, December 25; and Tuesday, December 26. The Recreation Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31, and will be closed Monday, January 1.
Manatee County public libraries will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day after Christmas and New Year's Day.
There will be no fixed route or Handy Bus service on Christmas Day or New Year's Day. Fixed-route and Handy Bus service ends at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The Longboat Key Shuttle service and Anna Maria Island Trolley service will end at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
The Anna Maria Trolley and Beach ConneXion Shuttle will operate on Saturdays and Sundays through the holidays.
the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s Office will be closed for the holidays on the following days:
- Monday, December 25
- Tuesday, December 26
- Monday, January 1
