BRADENTON -- Commissioner Vanessa Baugh was absent from Thursday's BOCC Land Use Meeting. Baugh was traveling to Tallahassee with hopes to get the University Parkway and I-75 intersection in Lakewood Ranch bumped-up on the FDOT/MPO priority lists. Baugh is traveling with Sarasota County officials as well as Manatee County officials. Both county administrators were said to be onboard. In other business, members approved a 50-acre exclusive residential community, and a 77-single family development; both are Neal Properties.

Benac -- said she had to respond to a commentary in The Bradenton Times. Benac said it was about the LBP project, and that the writer "unfortunately didn't know the Land Development Code," adding, "they did not know they were already permitted back in 2011." Benac also said that staff didn't make any calls when it comes to making decisions on wetlands.

DiSabatino -- said, Sarasota (SCAT) was adding a bus that would go to the airport, but that they were taking one away from Venice. Commissioner DiSabatino also said that those who get frustrated with traffic need to consider traveling during off-peak hours, later adding, "More traffic, more tourist, more money." DiSabatino said that she sees the glass half full, not empty.
