Marauders and Hammerheads Split Doubleheader

BRADENTON – The Marauders (29-17, 64-51) topped the Jupiter Hammerheads (15-30, 42-72) 5-0 in game one of Thursday night’s doubleheader before falling 9-6 in game two. The Marauders dropped a half game in the standings, but remain atop of the South Division by a single game over the Palm Beach Cardinals.

Tyler Glasnow (W, 9-5) earned the win in game one with six scoreless innings while striking out 11. Glasnow took over the league lead in ERA, dropping his mark to 1.53. Jhondaniel Medina pitched the final inning to complete the 17th shutout of the season for the Bradenton pitching staff. Six of those whitewashes have come at the expense of the Hammerheads.

The final game of the series is Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Jason Creasy will be on the hill for the Marauders, with Trevor Williams going to the mound for Jupiter. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
