JUPITER – The Marauders (37-34, 2-0) dealt the Hammerheads (27-44, 0-2) a second straight 1-0 defeat, a third straight shutout loss, and a seventh straight loss overall on Friday night at Roger Dean Stadium. Orlando Castro (W, 4-4), Jhondaniel Medina, and Robby Rowland (S, 1) combined to hold Jupiter to four hits on the night. The Hammerheads have only had one runner reach third base in the series.

Bradenton failed to score against Scott Lyman (L, 3-6) after loading the bases with nobody out in the first, but wouldn’t let him off the hook in the same situation in the sixth. Adam Frazier led off with an infield single. Max Moroff sacrificed, but Lyman mishandled the bunt and threw wide of first to put men at first and second. Josh Bell’s well-placed bunt resulted in a hit to load the bases. Lyman struck out Jose Osuna, but Jordan Steranka notched an RBI-groundout to first for the game’s only run. Lyman has been beaten 1-0 by Bradenton twice this season.

Bell finished 3-for-4 with three singles. Frazier was 2-for-4. All eight Marauders hits were singles.

The game was played after a 71 minute rain delay from the outset.

The Marauders send Chad Kuhl to the mound on Saturday going for a series sweep. The Hammerheads counter with Trevor Williams. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. and the game will be broadcast online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
