PORT ST. LUCIE – The Marauders (41-38, 6-4) fell 1-0 on Sunday afternoon against the St. Lucie Mets (46-32, 6-3) at Tradition Field. Bradenton was 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position in the game.

St. Lucie plated the only run of the game in the bottom of the second inning, starting the frame with four consecutive singles off Jason Creasy (L, 4-4). Creasy limited the damage to just the one run thanks in part to Jonathan Schwind throwing out Gavin Cecchini at the plate on Albert Cordero’s run-scoring single. Creasy did not allow another hit over his six innings pitched. He struck out five.

Michael Fulmer pitched shutout baseball against the Marauders for the third time this season, limiting the Marauders to three hits over seven innings. Three Mets relievers pitched in the final two innings, with Paul Sewald (S, 3) facing just one batter while collecting the save. Sewald struck out Walker Gourley with Jin-De Jhang at second to end the game.

Adam Frazier and Raul Fortunato extended their hitting streaks to 12 games. Josh Bell’s streak was snapped at 14 in an 0-for-4 day.

The series finale is Monday night at 6:30 p.m. Tyler Glasnow will be on the mound for the Marauders. Former Major Leaguer John Lannan is expected to start for the Mets. The game can  be heard online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
