BRADENTON — Grassroots candidate Dr. Robert McCann beat the odds to defeat developer-backed incumbent Ray Turner in Tuesday's Manatee County Commission D5 Republican primary.
McCann is a Navy veteran, a recently retired physician, and a lawyer who also holds a Master’s in Business/Health Care Administration. Turner is a real estate broker who was appointed to the seat after Vannessa Baugh stepped down.
Despite a massive deficit in campaign fundraising, McCann, who was endorsed by The Bradenton Times, cruised to victory 54% to 46%. McCann will now face NPA candidate Joseph Di Bartolomeo in November.

WTF
Another developer puppet appointed by Ron DeSantis backfires to the level of incompetency in his appointment. Good riddance don’t let the door hit you in the ass. In fact you should resign early or take the rest of your vacation days and never come back. You don’t show up the time anyways, your planning board was equally as disastrous and ask kissing to the developers
