SARASOTA – Dr. Laura Hershorin and Associates of the Sarasota Center for Family Health & Wellness has just completed transitioning the traditional family-medicine practice into a Concierge Practice.

“With the changing face of health-care and insurance, we were faced with a real dilemma,” says Dr. Hershorin. “After much discussion, we decided we wanted to maintain the highest quality of care and doctor/patient interaction. The only way to do that was to move to concierge medicine. We have been gratified that so many of our patients have stayed with us and we have also welcomed many new patients who understand the value of our new approach.”

Concierge medicine is a growing trend in American healthcare and several Sarasota-area concierge practices are already full. In a Concierge practice patients pay an annual fee (above and beyond insurance) and in return get longer appointments, little-to-no waiting time, same-day appointments, phone access to the doctor and a host of other wellness services. Dr. Hershorin hosts regular “Focus on Health” workshops and her patients receive a complimentary nutrition and acupuncture appointment annually.

The Sarasota Center for Family Health & Wellness is currently accepting new patients and Dr. Hershorin offers a complimentary “Meet The Doc” 30-minute appointment to get acquainted with prospective patients. More details and appointment requests can be made at the website: www.sarasotacenter.com.

Dr. Laura Hershorin is a graduate of the Tufts Medical School in Boston, is a board-certified family practitioner and has been awarded the peer-nominated Castle-Connolly “Best Doctors” designation for the last five years. She has been practicing in the Sarasota area for ten years.
