March 8, 1946 - March 19, 2024

Terra Ceia, Florida - Robert "Bob" Gibson, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on March 19th, 2024 in Bradenton, Florida. Born in Cortez on March 8th, 1946 to loving parents Daisy and Hoot who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion. Bob's passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew him.

Bob was a man of many talents and passions. He served his country with honor as a member of the Army before pursuing various trades including boat building, welding, fabrication. His adventurous spirit led him to become a racing and stunt car driver - an occupation that perfectly encapsulated his fearless nature.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Bob found solace by fishing and hunting. Later in life he dedicated his time fixing wheelchairs for fellow disabled veterans. His willingness to lend a hand knew no bounds; he was always there for anyone in need.

His strength of character was matched only by his sense of humor.

Family meant everything to Bob; he leaves behind three children whom he cherished deeply along with ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who will forever hold memories of their kind-hearted patriarch close to their hearts.

The funeral service honoring Bob's life will be held on April 13th at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park starting at 11:00 a.m., where friends and family will gather together to celebrate his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Bradenton DAV in Memory of Bob Gibson as a tribute to his unwavering dedication towards supporting fellow veterans.

Bob's legacy lives on through all those whose lives were touched by his kindness and generosity. He may have departed this world but he will forever remain alive within our hearts - remembered for being strong-willed yet compassionate; humorous yet sincere; selfless yet larger-than-life.
