Robert H. "Bob" Moore, Sr., 80, passed away and went to his Heavenly Home with the lord on December 1, 2023. He was born February 15, 1943, in West Palm Beach, FL.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, IKE and Esther Moore and his beloved son, Bobby, Jr. He leaves behind the loves of his life, wife, Sue Moore; daughter, Christy Maurette; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Bobby, and Elyse Maurette; brothers, Tom (Paula), and Rick (Nancy), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was a man with resolute dedication to his faith and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and through Him, his love for his wife, Sue, and children and grandchildren.
Bob and his wife were very active in their church. He always made time to listen and share his journey of faith with all. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Formally a member and Deacon of Trinity Baptist of Keystone Heights, FL, and First Baptist of Woodstock, GA.
His love for Publix and the Jenkins family began with his Publix Supermarkets career in 1959 as a front-service clerk in Sarasota, FL. He held many store-level positions before being promoted to store manager in 1973.
In 1983, he was promoted to district manager in the Jacksonville Division. He was promoted to assistant director of retail operations in the Lakeland Division in 1987 and to director in 1990. Bob then moved to Georgia to help open the Atlanta Division as director of retail operations. He was promoted to Vice President of the Atlanta Division in 1994.
Anyone who met Bob immediately knew his passion for Publix and its people. He was relentless in his pursuit of pushing not only himself but those he encountered to perform at their very best. Bob's talent for assembling and coaching teams was instrumental in the growth of the Atlanta Division. He left behind a legacy of caring whose impact can be felt in how this Division continues to excel in community giving.
Visitation will be 12:30 – 1:45 PM, Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Leesburg main campus, 220 N 13th Street, Leesburg, FL 34748, with service to directly follow.
Graveside service will be 11 AM, Friday, December 8, 2023, at Sarasota Memorial Park, 5833 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bob's name to Mike Conley Hospice House, 2100 Oakley Seaver Drive, Clermont, FL 34711, or a charity of your choice.
