On Sunday, January 18 starting at 3:00 p.m., Ship of Fools will perform a tribute show to Bob Weir, rhythm guitarist and founding member of Grateful Dead who died at the age of 78 on Saturday. The show, hosted by Jungle Hideaway, will feature many songs written and performed by Bob Weir over his long career.
From his Facebook page: “For over sixty years, Bobby took to the road. A guitarist, vocalist, storyteller, and founding member of the Grateful Dead. Bobby will forever be a guiding force whose unique artistry reshaped American music. His work did more than fill rooms with music; it was warm sunlight that filled the soul, building a community, a language, and a feeling of family that generations of fans carry with them. Every chord he played, every word he sang was an integral part of the stories he wove. There was an invitation: to feel, to question, to wander, and to belong.”
Ship of Fools formed in 2012 to share their love of Grateful Dead’s music – a mix of psychedelic rock, blues, Americana, country, and even jazz, and found an eager and dedicated following around the Gulf Coast. Members include Nate Howell, Jeremy Egglefield, Michael Garrie, Michael Hoffman, Turner Moore and special guest Kara Nally.
The show at Jungle Hideaway is indoors, no cover charge, with an outside patio adjacent for mini-golf and cornhole. Plenty of free parking is available on-site.
No cover.
