BRADENTON – Sky White, a junior at Manatee High School, attended the 2014 Sunshine State Scholars program last Thursday and Friday. Each district in the state has one junior invited to attend the Orlando event that celebrates Florida's highest-achieving science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students.
The two-day awards and recruitment event recognizes the accomplishments of these elite students and provides a unique venue for Florida's colleges and universities to recruit their talents.
The Sunshine State Scholars program is made possible by a partnership between the Florida Education Foundation, the Division of Florida Colleges, the State University System of Florida and the Florida Department of Education.
