Starbucks Steps up to Help Feed Empty Little Tummies in Manatee

Posted

BRADENTON -- Say what you want about corporate behemoths, but the crowned mermaid of the coffee world has stepped up to the plate to help my favorite local charity F.E.L.T.

The organization, which provides food-stocked backpacks for homeless Manatee County school children to ensure they have sustenance through the weekends is continuing to raise awareness and provide food for a growing number of our county's 1,300 plus homeless school children.

This Saturday, Starbucks will host an event at their newest store on Manatee Avenue West and 59th Street in Front of Sweetbay. Come on out and enjoy some sample coffee and treats and

bring a donation of non-perishable single serving food items like tuna packets, pasta bowls, Vienna sausages,  fruit cups or granola bars.

Starbucks will also have donation boxes at their other local stores at Manatee Ave and U.S. 41; Cortez and 75th St W; and Cortez and U.S. 41. F.E.L.T. is a registered 501 3c non-profit with zero administrative cost so that 100 percent of all donations go toward feeding homeless children. Monetary donations can be made through the Bradenton Elks by clicking here.
