This Week in Local Government: September 8-12, 2014

BRADENTON – The Palmetto City Commission will workshop then hold a meeting on Monday, with first public hearings for ordinances on marijuana dispensaries and pain management clinics. The BOCC will vote on repeal and termination of both its 14th Street West and South County Community Redevelopment Plans on Tuesday, with the Manatee Port Authority convening within said meeting. Also on Tuesday, the Manatee School Board will workshop then have a meeting and final public hearing on the district's 2014-15 budget and vote on administration's armed security proposal. Wednesday morning, the Bradenton City Council will have a public hearing on increasing fees for water, sewer and reclamation charges, then have a first public hearing on the city's 2014-15 budget that evening. The BOCC will have a Planning Commission meeting Thursday morning, then a public budget hearing that evening.
