Troop 22 Induct Five to Eagle Scouts

BRADENTON — On Sunday, five local young men earned Eagle Scout status during a ceremony at the Palma Sola Botanical Park.

Boy Scout Troop 22 Eagle Scouts, 2024:

Maxwell Bennetts
Eagle Project: Bee Hotel built for Solitary Bees for bee population and pollination at Palma Sola Botanical Gardens. Max gathered and incorporated log debris from Hurricane Ian as part of his project.
How long in scouts: Max has been in scouting for 11 years.
Any other notable achievements: Max completed and was certified in the National Youth Leadership Training. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow, the Scouting Honor Society, completing the Ordeal and also the next level of Brotherhood. He then completed Elangomat training, working and leading groups. He was elected Chapter Chief of the Order of the Arrow.

Jake Burdette
Eagle Project: Jake installed a flagpole with lighting at Palma Sola Presbyterian Church. He held a cornhole tournament to raise the funds to purchase the flagpole, lighting, landscaping, etc.
How long in scouts: 12 years
Any other notable achievements: Boy Scout Order of the Arrow, AP Scholar of Distinction, Top 1% of Class at MHS, Won Regionals & States to compete in FBLA Nationals in Chicago, Golden Herald Nominee, Accepted to University of Florida to major in Business and minor in Chemistry

Jake Clulow
Eagle Scout Project: 2 Informational announcement boards for Manatee Area School How long in scouts: 9 years with Scouting
Any other notable achievements: Order of the Arrow and National Youth Leadership Training. He will graduate this year and attend Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. He will play football for the University and study business finance. He also medaled in Olympic Weightlifting at the Florida State Championships this past weekend.

Noah Disher
Eagle Project: Noah helped the local community church with painting, cleaning and refurbishing a large outdoor activity area.
How long in Scouts: 11 years
Any other notable achievements: Valedictorian of the 2024 Manatee High School class, Past Senior Patrol Leader, Bright Future recipient. Noah will attend the University of Florida.

Charles Landers
Eagle Project Description: Charles built, installed, and filled a "Little Free Library" (book exchange) at Palma Sola Botanical Park to promote reading among children and visitors to the park.
How long in Scouts: Charles has been in Scouting for 12 years
Any other notable achievements: Elected to leadership positions at his school and troop; inducted into the Scouting Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow; served as an acolyte at his church; will attend Landmark College, Putney, Vermont.

    Congratulations to these gentlemen who achieved their Eagle Scout. The Eagle Scout achievement is a classic among those who have gone forward and made successful careers for themselves. The work and dedication to get the Eagle Scout is what shows the characteristics that will make them great leaders.
