Utilities Department To Shut Down Water In Part Of Manatee County Wednesday To Replace Water Valves

MANATEE-- The Manatee County Utilities Department has issued a water off notice for all residences from 44th Ave. E to 30th Ave E. between 51st St. E. to 39th St. E on Wednesday November 3, 2010 for replacement of water valves.Water will be shut off from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

There is also a Precautionary Boil Water notice for Pic Town Estates from US 41 to 9th St. Ct. W. between 52nd Ave. Terrace W. and 50th Ave Dr. W. A water main tie-in is scheduled for Wednesday evening, November 3, 2010. The water will be shut off from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

The county advises customers that once service is restored, all water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled as a precaution. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used. This precautionary notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey has shown the water to be safe, normally 24-48 hours. A Rescission Notice will be issued when lifted.
