Where to Shelter in Manatee County

BRADENTON – With evacuation zones A and B now at mandatory status, Manatee County officials are advising those who need access to county shelter facilities to make arrangements sooner rather than later. Two additional Manatee County schools have been added to the list of shelters, for a total of seventeen.

Working in collaboration with Manatee County Emergency Management, the Manatee School district opened the schools as shelters at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. Any resident can access the shelters, regardless of their home's evacuation level. Those with special needs MUST register in advancehere.

The following schools are currently open as shelters:
  • Nolan Middle School (Special Needs)
  • Braden River High School (Pet Friendly)
  • Manatee High School (Pet Friendly)
  • Mills Elementary School (Pet Friendly)
  • Buffalo Creek Middle School (Pet Friendly)
  • Haile Middle School
  • Bayshore Elementary School
  • Freedom Elementary School
  • Gullett Elementary School
  • Harvey Elementary School
  • Lee Middle School
  • Myakka Elementary School
  • Miller Elementary School
  • McNeal Elementary School
  • Rogers Gardens Elementary School
  • Williams Elementary School
  • Willis Elementary School
