Hayward Kelly Sr.

Hayward Kelly, Sr., 90, of Palmetto, Florida, passed away on July 22, 2022.

Brother Hayward Kelly, Sr., was born on October 23, 1931, in Gainesville, FL., to the late Govan and Nancy Kelly. He departed at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL.

He joined St. Andrew A.M.E. Church at an early age. He served faithfully in many capacities: choir member and on other committees throughout the church. He retired from the railroad after being there for 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his late wife: Caldonia Kelly; parents, Govan and Nancy Kelly Sr., brothers: Albert, James, Govan, Jr., and Otis Kelly; sisters: Rev. Bessie Payton, Elizabeth Morgan, and Daisy Johnson; sons: Andre' Kelly and Haywood Kelly, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved daughters: Bessie Kelly, Tracy Kelly, Vandelie Kelly; four granddaughters: Katrina (James) Goodwin, Andrea Carter, Nicole (Cornelius) Melvin, Tori (Michael) Summer, seven grandsons: Frederick Kelly, Daryl (Eryca) Kelly, Randy Kelly, Jerome Carter, Maurice Carter, Brian (Camille) Kelly, Haywood (Tracy) Kelly. Thirty-six great-grands; three sisters: Nancy (Maxie) Bragg, Ora Lee (Emerson) Murray, Evelyn Harris, one sister-in-law: Jeanette Eubanks Kelly; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; godson: Anthony (Tiki) Waiters, Sr., special loving niece: Lori Kelly Cummings.

Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, July 29, 2022.  Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2022.  Both services will take place at Saint Andrew's AME Church 203 17th St W., Palmetto, Fl 34221.
