A Thank You to All Who Supported My Campaign for Mayor of Bradenton

Posted

To My Family, Friends and numerous supporters: I am sorry we did not make it across the goal line for a new beginning in the City of Bradenton.

I thought I did everything possible to inform our citizens of the scandals and corruption that I had witnessed and reported on numerous times.

I lay awake at night thinking how can anyone accept over 500 million gallons of sewage into our River. How can anyone accept our Police Department being afraid to go to work in fear they will be asked to do something illegal? How can anyone agree the use of Police to punish your political enemies is anything other than an abuse of power?

Whistleblowers indicate fraud inside, with no accountability or oversight. Our City is selling taxpayers' property at less than full value to a developer, and no one challenges the contracts, procurement methods, or transparency of the transactions. And much more.

So, I gave it my best to expose these items. However, I was not successful, and I didn't get the message to enough people, or they simply did not care. 9,000 of you did! Thank you.

Either way, I received nearly 9,000 votes and 9,000 people who agreed with me. I am proud of that, and I thank each and every one of you for your support.

I am 71 years old, and I feel real good about my campaign message. I will move on to retirement. I wish our citizens the best, as our City will change, and I do not believe for the better.

  • Traffic will get worse.
  • More sewage in the waters.
  • Police lawsuit still pending in Federal Court
  • No plan to correct or take accountability from the leadership.

I believe in fair elections, and I have no reason to believe anything but what happened on Nov. 5, 2024.

So, I accept the defeat. You will see little of me in the future, as I think I have completed my mission here. I investigated and found the abuse of power from within, reported it to the voting public, and received the results.

Any citizen may call or email me anytime, and I will respond. I will continue to watch, hopefully silently again, as the saying goes.

"Don't Complain, VOTE!

Thank you,
Bill Sanders
Citizen
