Charles A. Fuller, 74, died unexpectedly in his home in Anna Maria, FL on August 17, 2022.

Charlie was born in Bristol, VA on July 12, 1948, and raised in Bristol, TN by his late parents, Dewey Wayne and Evelyn (Byrd) Fuller. He graduated from Bristol Tennessee High School in 1966 and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in biology from King University in 1970. After graduating college, Charlie served in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Charlie worked as a computer programmer for Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD, and Wheeling, WV, for over 30 years. An avid, lifelong golfer, he worked and played at Oglebay’s Crispin Golf Course in Wheeling, WV, upon retiring. He also loved music, dancing, bird watching and good food. A master of breakfast foods, he had perfected the bagel, Christmas morning cinnamon rolls and southern grits.

He was a dedicated, loving father to his two children and relished spending time with his family in Maine, Tennessee, and Florida. Known for his easy-going personality, Charlie was unfazed by hard times and always had an infectious positive presence. Charlie was universally adored and admired for his unconditional kindness, willingness to help and sense of humor.

He is survived by his children, Hannah and Sam Fuller; a brother and sister-in-law, Dewey Fuller and Vickie Kilgore; a brother-in-law, Tilden Curry; a niece, Evyn Olshevski; nephews, Daniel Curry and Mark Fuller; a cousin, Judy Sutherland and many great-nieces and nephews. Charlie is also survived by close family members Kathy and Irv Shapell, Sue Porter and Jim Porter.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his sister Sue Fuller, and his nephew, Wayne Fuller. Visitation was held at Weaver Funeral Home in Bristol, TN on Saturday, August 27, 2002, followed immediately by a Service and then Inurnment in Glenwood Cemetery. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
