Council Corner: Jayne Kocher: Ward 1

Posted

As we begin the new year, we’re all relieved to leave behind the storms of 2024 and the challenges they brought. However, our work continues as we address and resolve their lingering effects. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff, leadership, and first responders who went above and beyond to help us navigate those difficulties.

Looking ahead, we’re excited about a busy and vibrant event season. Mark your calendars for the Founders Cup Block Party on February 2, 2025, kicking off the LPGA tournament’s return to Bradenton; the Pittsburgh Pirates Block Party on February 15; the Bradenton Area River Regatta on February 22; and, of course, Spring Training with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Be sure to check the city calendar—there’s always something to enjoy.

As we enter the season of increased traffic, we encourage everyone to plan for longer commutes, stay safe, and always remember we are the “Friendly City!”
