DeSantis Hold Press Conference to Announce Budget Proposal

TALLAHASSEE — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis held a press conference on Thursday to detail highlights of his proposed Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget. 

"Over these last six years, we have led with fiscal conservatism and made Florida the nation’s model for the responsible stewardship of tax dollars," said DeSantis in a tweet. "Building on that success, I have today announced the Focus on Fiscal Responsibility Budget for Florida’s Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget. This budget proposal continues to reduce spending for our state (by $3 billion from the previous year), reduces the size and scope of government, contributes over $800 million more to paying off our debt, and provides $2.2 billion in tax relief to Floridians. "
