Groundbreaking for Palmetto Woman's Club Restoration scheduled for Sept. 16

PALMETTO — The City of Palmetto and the Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency recently announced that the long-awaited groundbreaking of the Woman’s Club in downtown Palmetto will take place on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

Located at 910 Sixth Street West, the building was completed in 1930. It is a concrete block and stucco building with one and two-story sections and Mediterranean Revival styling. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in March 1986.
