Hugh Louis Benedict, 97, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2022.
He was born June 15, 1925, to Louis and Anne Benedict. He was raised in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Central High School in 1943. He served in the Army in WW2. He then attended the University of Michigan, graduating in 1950 with a BBA degree. He married Shirley Dodge in 1953 and had three children: Keith, Karen, and Bruce. He worked for the Daniel Green Co. as a district sales manager living in Columbus, Ohio. He retired after 30 years and moved to the Perico Bay Club in Bradenton, FL, where he lived for 17 years before moving to Freedom Village in 2003. He enjoyed golf, tennis, swimming, and walking the beach.
Hugh was predeceased by his wife Shirley, son Keith, and son Bruce. He is survived by his daughter Karen; grandchildren Michael Hoepf and his wife Katy, Lauren Threet and her husband Jay; and great-grandchildren Gemma Threet and Jude Threet.
