Bradenton, Florida - Lynda Rae Marks DaPrato passed away quietly and peacefully on October 13, 2025. She was born July 8, 1951, in White Plains, New York.

Rae, as she liked to be called, moved approximately every four years since her father was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force. Some of the places she lived besides New York include Okinawa, Japan, California, Washington D.C., where her father worked at the Pentagon, and Hawaii.

Rae lived in Hawaii before it became a state. She graduated from Kailua High School in 1969 and from the University of Hawaii where she earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology. She continued her studies and became a Registered Nurse working at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. She also went on to earn her master's degree.

Rae later relocated with her daughter and then-husband to Florida and worked at Blake and Manatee Hospitals. She found a home when she started working at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in 1993. She worked for many years as the Director of Risk Management. Finally, after 27 years of service, she retired in April of 2020.

Rae's pride and joy was raising her grandson, Mychael. She was a great cheerleader at his soccer games and was so proud of him when he graduated from college.

Rae enjoyed travelling, scrapbooking, her Bible study group, going to the movies, card games, and getting together for family meals with friends.

Rae is preceded in death by her parents, Irene Ann Hippman Marks and Russell Herbert Marks; and her brother, Edward Marks.

She is survived by her grandson, Mychael Ray DaPrato of Bradenton, FL.
