Manatee County Accepting Applications for Tourist Development Council

MANATEE COUNTY — Manatee County is seeking qualified applicants to fill two openings on its nine-member Tourist Development Council. The TDC makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners concerning the effective operation of the projects set forth in the Tourist Development Plan and the uses for which Tourist Development Tax revenues may be expended.

There are two (2) positions open. An elected municipal official from the City of Palmetto, City of Bradenton Beach, City of Holmes Beach, City of Anna Maria, or City of Longboat Key is being sought for one opening. The other open position will be filled with a member who must be the owner/operator (General Manager) of motels, hotels, recreational vehicle parks, or other short-term accommodations in the county and is subject to the 6% resort tax in Manatee County. All applicants must be registered voters in Manatee County. 

Applications are due December 20, 2024, and may be found online at www.mymanatee.org/advisory_boards.

The Tourist Development Council meets on the third Monday (occasionally the second Monday), every other month at 9:00 or 9:30 a.m. at varying locations throughout Manatee County. The term length is four years.
