Palmetto Storm Debris Collection

Posted

PALMETTO — The City of Palmetto is working closely with our Debris Contractors to develop guidelines and a timeline for debris removal within the city limits. At this time, we hope to have crews in the area towards the end of the week or early next week (i.e., the week of October 7, 2024) to begin picking up hurricane-related debris.

Please refer to the guidelines above for hurricane-related debris.

Please note that our waste hauler (Waste Management) expects normal garbage, recycling, and yard waste pick-ups to happen on the regularly scheduled days during the week of September 30, 2024, and going forward. However, they will not be picking up large debris piles as described in the guidelines below. The hurricane-related debris will be picked up by storm contractors as described above.

Please refer to www.mymanatee.org for other storm-related questions, including distribution points for food and water. The closest distribution center for Palmetto residents is Blackstone Park.
