Michael Wayne Newson, age 62, passed away on July 8, 2022.
Michael was the third oldest child of the late Printis Newson, Sr. and Annie Ruth Jackson was born on May 10, 1960. He attended the public schools of Manatee County. He attended and graduated from Manatee High School in 1978. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served others for 4 years.
He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mount Raymond M.B. Church. He moved to Seattle, Washington and later moved to Medford, Oregon. Until his death, he was employed as a supervisor with the Jackson County of Medford, Oregon. Michael enjoyed working outdoors.
He leaves to cherish his memories; Four brothers: Willie Newson, Thailand; Gregory Newson, Alton Newson and Printis Newson, Jr., all of Palmetto, FL; Two sisters: Bobbie Lynn Jackson, Tampa, FL and Rhonda Graham, Palmetto, FL; 3 nieces: Gabriel Newson and Jazmyne Newson of West Virginia, Akaira Newson, Sarasota, FL; one uncle: Johnny Pollard, Margate, FL; one aunt: Ella Myles (Earl) Palmetto, FL; A very special and close cousin: Carolyn Wilson, Bradenton, FL; other cousins, Doris Cunningham (Willie), Leon Pollard, Ruby Hudson, Walter Thomas, Calvin Pollard, Frazier Pollard, Palmetto, FL, Brenda Watkins (Wesley), Deborah Leaner, April McClellan, Wanda Hutchins, Charoletta Williams (Jerome Carl), Stephanie Foster (Walter), Juliann Larkins (David), David Pollard, Jr., Sharran Bradley, Brian Dock Pollard, Lisa Spikes, Mark Spikes, Tim Smith, Kim Whitaker (Ken), Sylvia Robinson (Gregory), Carmen Shorey, Dr. Mary Tillis (Theodore), and a host of other cousins and sorrowing friends.
Services were held in Michael's honor on July 18, 2022, at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
