How could this proposal advance - when clearly there was a tie vote? All we need to do is connect the dots - Port of Manatee - controlled by the State and DeSantis appointees - MEGA Cruise Ship port now has an open door to Terra Ceia’s back yard - and Rattle Snake key’s 710+ acres being held up as a sacrifice to building this MEGA Cruise port - on an ISLAND no less! Think of the traffic - we can’t get over the bridge as it is during peak hours - image the MEGA amounts of traffic of not only cruisers - but supplies - and the waste - degradation to our beautiful Tampa Bay by the need to dredge the bay to accommodate MEGA Cruise ships - while our bay is struggling to stay alive - what the ! Hey everyone - our environment is the most important part of our life’s - take care of what we have left - it has no VOICE - but it has YOU! Speak up - write/call/text all who are advancing this proposal - and tell them YOU object!

Pay attention to the point made by Susan Schoetlle, “The powers that would be granted to this new district as outlined in HB4091 are extremely broad and go way beyond what is needed to address any stormwater issues that may exist,” and the concerns of Commissioner Knight — the objective certainly is "way beyond" and much suspect.

This tells you everything we already know about Mosaic. Sounds like a Trump strategy, "Let's throw it at the wall and see what happens." Don't trust them and never will. Radically less extension or call it to an end altogether. We don't need the toxins.

This is one of the most environmental sensitive areas on the coast, they will have to pay off a lot of government people to get this built.

I left the theater with strong feelings, but wasn’t quite sure what they were! Lots to unpack afterwards. Great review, great movie.

Hi Mitch, A few comments. -Headline Trump is serious about cancelling midterms. The you say-Trump "joked" about cancelling midterms. Then you say he is serious. What do you base that determination on? -Please show me where in millers statement he said absolute. He was clearly referring to the Supremecy Clause which says they have immunity -dept of war is a legal secondary title from an executive order by trump the head of that dept then could be called... Why do you feel that a military paper should have woke articles ? -If you were running a business would you require your employees to be committed to your goals or ok for them to work contrary to those goals. There are plenty of things to criticize trump for without misleading.

I had the opportunity to speak at the Manatee County Planning Board mission yesterday and expose them to their habitual offender status with over $2 billion in fines Because of Public Comment, they were denied a 14 year extension of the destructive practices with Manatee County It was a long day over nine hours and they were last on the agenda, but thanks to the Public and their advocacy. We finally beat them at their own game. Watch the entire Commission here. Mosaic starts about the eight hour mark…. for the record. https://youtu.be/Jafpk5-lW_I?si=RqLFknT_wOKF59k7

So sad that people keep electing these Republicans. They are owned by the developers and don't give a rip about the rest of us or the environment that we live in.

I attended this broadcast in person and appreciate Mitch, George and Mark alerting us to the dangers to home rule posed by SB 180. It was a very well-done radio program. Mike Meehan, CFA, MBA

Good. Some people may actually live because of this. But why is "living and healthcare" a problem in this country for anyone? If taxes were increased on the wealthy... they would only lose a second yacht, not their healthcare!

When I graduated college in the late 60's... there were few teaching jobs in my home area, but plenty posted for Florida. Why? The teacher pay was good in my home state... School Districts could pick and chose from many applicants... the cream of the crop! Those of us without "top of the cream" ratings, but still qualified hunted and applied for what was posted. Nobody applied for low paying, low ranked Florida's Education System, except sun lovers, and those with some extra trust fund income. And today, over 40 years later - Florida Public Education still ranked low in teacher compensation. Fortunately, the system couldn't stop the bright kids from learning! Somehow, they just do!

The number of pulled consent items is getting ridiculous, especially if there are no issues and you are going to vote yes to pass. Some should be pulled for explanation but not all. I agree with LWV that you could convey much of the information to your constituents in a newsletter, Facebook, emails. For your efforts to clarify the items would be better served that way. I would think not as many constituents watch board meetings as you think. Pulled consent items going almost 2 hours is too long and takes up time staff could be using to do other things instead of sitting in the BOCC. Chairman Siddique reorganized the agenda from the dais. How many of the staff were there from 9:00 a.m. to when their item was discussed?

That dude was dumb enough to steal on camera after breaking in during a riot, and got turned in before he'd even left the Capitol building. Then he complained about being persecuted, as if he didn't do the thing I'm not convinced I've seen anything demonstrating any good qualities of leadership. I'd say it's funny, but I didn't think the Don could get into office either.....

The trump administration “says” a lot. No doubt the lobbyists will pay him enough so the “people own homes …” argument disappears in the night.
