Carl Victor Johnson Jr., 95, of Bradenton, Florida passed peacefully at home on July 25, 2022.
He was born on October 23, 1926, in Hartford, CT to the late Mildred Peterson and Carl Victor Johnson Sr.
Carl grew up in Torrington, CT, attending local schools. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during World War II.
After his military service, Carl pursued a successful career in residential home construction in Connecticut and then later on in Florida, following in his father's footsteps. In addition to home building, his next passion was his many boats and the high seas. He was a true craftsman at bringing old boats back to new life. Carl was the founder of Custom Marine Teak Products.
Carl leaves his three children, Carl Johnson III of Charlestown, Rhode Island, Robert Johnson of Oviedo, Florida and Lisa Johnson of Kissimmee, Florida, along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his feline friend, Mr. Meow.
Aside from his parents, Carl was predeceased by his sister Diane and brother Whitney.
There will be a memorial service in Carl's honor on August 27, 2022, at 11:00 am at Shannon Funeral Home in Bradenton, Florida.
